Sublingual vs Transdermal • 2Q's With an Herbal Consultant

As herbal consultants, our goal is to help customers find the best products, dosage, and applications for their specific needs. Here are a few terms we use to describe how cannabis products work within the body.

What is Sublingual? When you hear the term “sublingual” it refers to the application of situating or applying cannabis under the tongue. Salivary glands beneath the tongue allow cannabis to be absorbed into the bloodstream quickly meaning faster effects. Sublingual products are available as tinctures, oral sprays, tablingual, chewing gum, mints, and breath strips.

What is Transdermal? The term “transdermal” is the application of cannabis through the skin, typically by using an adhesive patch, cannabinoids are absorbed slowly into the body, delivering a slow consistent dose that can last 8 -12hrs. We recommend trying Mary’s Medicinals patches in THCA, THC, CBN, and CBD.
