Bittersweet Announcement: To Our Beloved Pajaro Community

It is with both gratitude and sadness that we share the news that Santa Cruz Naturals – Pajaro is closing its doors for the time being.

This decision was not made lightly. For years, we have been honored to serve a community we love—one built on resilience, hard work, and family. But we cannot ignore the many challenges we face. Immigration raids throughout California and beyond have created fear and uncertainty that has rippled through Pajaro, leaving many of our neighbors to live with constant worry. On top of that, extreme cannabis taxes and regulatory fees continue to burden local operators like us. For a working-class community already struggling with the economic realities of legal cannabis, these costs make it nearly impossible to compete with the illicit market while keeping products affordable.

As a local, family-owned business, our mission has always been to serve with compassion, dignity, and respect. While our storefront in Pajaro is closing for now, we are committed to making improvements to our business model so that we can return stronger and better serve this community.

In the meantime, our customers can continue to rely on us for safe, high-quality, and low-cost cannabis through our delivery service across the Greater Santa Cruz and Monterey County region, as well as at our Aptos location. And importantly, customer loyalty points remain valid and can be redeemed through delivery or by visiting Aptos.

We are profoundly grateful to our customers, staff, and neighbors in Pajaro. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives, for trusting us, and for reminding us every day why community matters. This is not the end of our relationship with Pajaro—it is a transition. Our commitment to you endures.
