Santa Cruz Naturals Watsonville Grand Opening, Huge Success!
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate our Watsonville Grand Opening on January 19th! Many years in the making, we are happy to say that the grand opening of our second dispensary was a huge success.
We were and continue to be amazing by the support this community offers. The grand opening was attended by Monterey County Supervisor Luis Alejo, Mayor of Watsonville Francisco Estrada, and Watsonville City Councilman Felipe Hernandez who also made the first purchase!
We also unveiled the collaborative mural installation, designed by Nessa Ledesma and Priscilla Martinez which will depict Cesar Chavez, John Steinbeck and the Ohlone people who once called the Monterey coast home as well as many local landmarks such as Cannery Row and “The Cement Ship” of of Seacliff state Beach. All of which are a nod to influential individuals and locations that make the Pajaro Valley so special.
Priscilla Martinez, who recently won the competition to design the Flag for Monterey County and Nessa Ledesma, a Teaching Artist on the Arts Council Santa Cruz County have captured all of that and more into their mural design and we can’t wait to have it installed in the new shop!
After the Ribbon cutting, first purchase and mural unveiling, attendees were treated to a live music performance by ¿Qiensave? , a local group originating in neighboring Salinas in 2009 and great food was provided by local vendors.
We hope to create a positive lasting impact in the local communities and beyond. Thank you again to everyone who came out to support Santa Cruz Naturals’ Grand Opening!
