Vape disposal: What you need to know

As the cannabis industry grows, we have seen more and more consumers turning to vape pens as an easier, more discrete way to enjoy concentrates. Here’s how it all works!

There are three main parts to a vape pen:

1.      The Mouthpiece - a shaped piece at the top of the chamber where the vapor comes through.

2.      The Chamber (tank) and Atomizer - The chamber holds the concentrate, and the atomizer connects to the battery and heats the concentrate.

3.      The Battery – the battery (usually lithium-ion) charges the atomizer. Some batteries have an activation button that will turn on the heating element when pressed.

Most batteries on the market are the lithium-ion variety that feature primary cell construction. This means that they are single-use—or non-rechargeable. Ion batteries, on the other hand, feature secondary cell construction. This means that they can be recharged and used over and over again

Since you’ll constantly be using, switching out, and replacing batteries, inevitably some of them will lose their ability to charge.

When Lithium ion batteries die, it’s important to dispose of them in a safe and environmentally-friendly manner.

In an effort to help reduce hazardous and toxic waste ending up the trash, we are committed to safely disposing of your old batteries for you!
